I have just got back from Derby, where Nevermind the Polygons #8 was hosted – I went to Brighton’s and it was great, so I fully intend to make Decembers. The topics included Halo 3’s release (and massive amount of money spent on it, and comparison to movies), changes to controls and dumbing down of games, the delays of games (like GTA IV) and quality of games and when they are released, and the Burger King set of advert/promotional games. Add onto this a humorous “fast draw round” where a lot of terrible puns were put on screen and people shouted out what games they were, and the “guess the game before the red line” which I think every time the audience got, and you can see why I enjoyed it.
I’ll post about the filming I did of the event when I’ve got it checked out (much thanks to David Hayward for permission to film in the first place!), and if it is good to put online Polygons might be internet-bound for all to see 🙂
