Travelling with delays is not fun

I thought a direct flight would be faster, but after having to land in Chicago for an appraisal of a possible water leak into non-cockpit areas, then a delay getting on a new plane then 2 flight attendants refusing to fly, then adding on the pilots running out of legal flight time, the plane got delayed for around 24 hours.

Urg.

I can’t really truly blame United for the original fault and need to land, but the 24 hours delay was ridiculous, so I’ll settle for likely as not choosing BA next time I fly. Next time I’ll pack a spare pair of clothes in my onboard luggage too.

So I’m back – no internet for 3 days hurts (nevermind my jet lag which I plan to crush with an appropriately timed nights sleep), I’ve got a lot to catch up on, never mind reporting about the pretty neat Chinese New Year festival on Saturday among other things.

  1. Wow! Well, glad you made the trip back safe. Sorry to hear about the delays! I had a delay going into San Francisco because we couldn’t find anybody to fly the plane. That was interesting… ;|

  2. Hey Andrew… did you see the post I wrote on the Sunday that we flew out? I figure you will get a kick out of it now.

I actually could have reprised it again on the way home this past Sunday as well since our flight from SFO to Denver was delayed about an hour because our incoming plane was behind (as were many it seemed).

Glad that you made it back, though. We need you on the forums, my friend! And all those damn notes you took! Where are they?!

    Take care…
