2 Abreast
2 Abreast formation. A good general formation.
2 Deep
2 deep, a simple formation useful for wider areas.
3 Abreast
3 abreast, more a square with the leader in the front. Quite compact.
Circle
The circle formation looks pretty good, and provides a "wall" of cohorts around the leader.
Line
Line formation is best for small parties wanting to be in a single rank.
None
No formation! This is what NWN uses by default, but of course formations would allow the distances used to be different. A adequate formation and necessary in some circumstances.
Single File
Single file, also useful for small parties who want to order a party behind the leader in corridors ready for battle.
Staggered
Staggered is a rank formation which spreads the party out (from large area-affecting spells) or for other reasons (defending large amounts of ground).
Vee
The "V" formation allows a leader to order a large group in a defensive posture for advancing.
Wedge
The Wedge formation is useful for assaults due to the following of a single entity (for instance, going through a small gap in an enemies defences) and still providing protection for each member.
